Is your yesterday really over? Or are you still living in it?

You are supposed to live in the here and now. You live today. You lived yesterday. You are not guaranteed tomorrow. Today is all you have. If you live in your yesterday, you forgo much of the joy and many of the blessings of your today.

Yesterday is often full of pain, sorrow, loss, and grief. It is easy to get stuck in a traumatic event and remain angry, hurt, bitter, resentful, wounded, and even revengeful. Negative emotions provide nothing but physical, emotional, and spiritual consequences. Nothing positive ever comes from remaining negative.

You do not have to stay stuck. The Lord came to bind up the brokenhearted. He said He would heal all your wounds. He wants you to be made whole.

To be made whole means you must let go of the things in your yesterday you are still holding on to. If your mind is full of anger then you will never be at peace. You will never receive the 'sound mind' the Lord has for you. Letting go is not easy but it is necessary. I know you want peace. I know you want to live in joy. I know you want the blessings the Lord has for you but you must forgive. You must turn to the Lord and allow Him to work in your heart.

You do this by opening up and being brutally honest with yourself. Ask the Holy Spirit to examine your heart and reveal everything that needs to be healed. Find someone to work with you as you process the negative emotions and memories. It is hard work but well worth the trouble. If you need help we are here for you.

Jesus is asking you, "Wilt thou be made whole?" Well, will you?

Then let go and receive. It is a trade off. Trade your sorrows and your shame as the song says. Trade them for the joy of the Lord which is your strength. I promise, if you do this all your todays will be blessed.
