While studying the Book of Ruth I found this ‘ah ha’, this revelation that is still resonating in my soul. There are no limits to how God can use you when you submit to His will instead of your own. Ruth’s story is sad but beautiful. Traumatic yet triumphant. Much like our own lives. As you read her story you can see the fingerprints of God throughout her life. She may have started out a grieving widow, wounded, poor, hurting outcast from Moab, but the Lord her God healed her, provided for her, brought her redemption through a great love, and caused her name to be known throughout the ages.
God demonstrated His love for her by guiding her, protecting her, providing for her, and giving her peace through the process. God used Ruth to lay at the feet of Boaz symbolizing her submission to Him and His providence for her life. God had a plan for Ruth and we see it unfolding little by little in her story. God has a plan for your life too. (Jer 29:11). You may not recognize it but God is working everything out for your good. (Rom 8:28).
There are conditions. If you yield and submit to God’s will He will cause His favor to come upon you like He did Ruth. Do you want the Lord to use you? Then follow Him as Ruth did. Forsake all else like she did. Be the person God created you to be. You will be amazed at the ways God can use you. With God all things are possible.
